The Robe and Lamen, and the Cord

Let the student make a robe of white cloth or of black according to her desire, and let it be ankle-length and long-sleeved and fitted with a full hood. Let it be of natural materials, fashioned by the student's own hand (though it need not be hand sewn, better if it were.) Let the student also braid a cord of red material four and one half feet long, with a loop at one end and a knot at the other.
